1In the year 2020, in the second month, on the last and most extra day of the month, as I sat in front of my computer screen, the internet was opened and I saw the new issue of Shousetsu Bang*Bang. 2 On the twenty-ninth day of the of the month (delayed from the appointed twenty-fourth day of the month due to technical difficulties), 3word came to me that at last the promise had been fulfilled, and the issue had been delivered.
4As I looked, a great page arose the browser before me with brightness all around it, and in the middle of the page, something like a glorious cover. 5Beneath the cover were something like five stories. This was their appearance: they were short stories. 6Each of them had less than 25,000 words, and each of them had at least one queer sex scene. 7Their endings were happy, and one of them even had illustrations. 8Each came from the hands of talented creators who gave freely of their time and effort so that I might enjoy the fruits of their imaginations. 9Like the gayest rainbow ever, such was the appearance of the splendor all round.
10When I saw it, I heard the voice of someone speaking. 11It was the voice of the Editor, who said to me: I am sending you an issue, which you should read. 12Then I read the issue, and it was pretty darn great.
13The Editor said to me: Go forward into all the online corners and tell the news of this issue to them. 14Then I was whisked away into the wilds of the internet, where social media live. 15There I beheld all the people who did not know of Shousetsu Bang*Bang, and I felt for them a great pity inside me. 16Taking up my keyboard, I began to write everything that had happened to me, before heading back into the archives for more delightful smutty queer goodness.
(For summaries, authors’ notes, and more, we would usually tell you to see this issue’s entry on the Shousetsu Bang*Bang wiki. However, we’re still working on getting it back up and running, so your patience is appreciated.)

To help you close out 2019 just right, we’ve got a gift for you that’s just your size: our theme-free big bang issue! In this, you’ll find all kinds of smutty romance and sexy adventure, from the mundane to the fantastic, from the historical to the imaginary, from the long to the … really, really long.
As always, we couldn’t have done any of this without the incredible hard work from all our volunteers — authors, artists, beta-readers, coders, signal-boosters, donors, and everyone else! This continues to be a project run on love and hard work, and we’re grateful that we’ve been gifted these both again and again throughout the year.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and coming back issue after issue. We hope you enjoy what the year has left in store for you, and we’ll see you in 2020!

What did that say? On the cover, what did that say? Did it say there will be a MONSTER at the end of this issue?
Listen, I have an idea. If you don’t click on any of the links, we will never get to the end of this issue. And that is good, because there is a monster at the end of this issue.
You clicked on a link! Maybe you do not understand. See, clicking links is what gets you through the issue, and there is a monster at the end of this issue. But this will–
You clicked another link! Don’t you understand what you’re doing? Don’t you see?
There. Maybe if I convince you not to share on social media. If you don’t spread the word about this wonderful free issue, filled with sexy queer spookiness, we will never get any closer to the monster at the end of this issue.
You did what? Well, then, maybe if you do not leave a comment thanking the creators for thier hard work! Then they will never return, and there will be no more issues, and there will be no more monsters. Problem solved!
Oh. I see where this is going.
Listen: The next line is the end of this patter text, and when it ends, the issue begins! And at the end of the issue is a monster! I’m so scared! Please, do not click any links, tell any of your friends, or tell the creators how much you appreciate all the time and effort they put into their creations! Please, please, please!
…Well, look at that! The issue is here, and the only monster is … the issue itself! Another heart-poundingly monstrous October issue of loveable, huggable old Shousetsu Bang*Bang! I told you there was nothing to be afraid of.

Baby, ain’t it something
How we’ve lasted this long
Proving everyone wrong
It’s Issue 80
Full of mismatched bookends
Thank the creators
And tell all of your friends!
Some take two steps forward
Some take two steps back
This is the issue
Where opposites attract!
And you know–in this fiction
Hides a natural fact:
Queer opposites attract!

When on high the internet had not been named,
The world wide web had not been called by name,
Naught but the authors and artists, their begetters,
And Shousetsu Bang*Bang, who bore them all,
Their contributions commingling as a single smutty body;
No recommendations had been tweeted, no little green hearts had been clicked,
When no appreciation whatever had been spoken into being,
Unshared on social media, their destinies undetermined—
Then it was that the the new issue was formed within them.

the completed 7-page mini comic explores the origin of Star Spinner’s unique webbing style, adapting to chronic disability, and getting support from her cute girlfriend!
spotlighting these things in her narrative was really personally important to me, as someone living with chronic pain and disability, and a lot of other people expressed joy/validation at seeing a superhero with these traits, so this comic was a great and fun way to explore and celebrate them!
please check it out if you wanna support me creating more content like this!
you can also see WIPs and tutorials from the comic, and all the regular patreon goodies like early art access and process videos!
